Official Charter
of
Family Trauma Survivors' Network
~ Preamble ~
Whereas we believe
in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being without regard to age,
race, gender, sexual orientation, mental, physical or emotional condition or sense
of identity.
Whereas we believe that all persons share equal rights on this planet and that
those rights should not be withheld or taken away from any person regardless of
age, race, gender, sexual orientation, mental, physical or emotional condition
or sense of identity. Whereas we believe in the right to self-determination
for all persons without regard to age, race, gender, sexual orientation, mental,
physical or emotional condition or sense of identity. Whereas we believe
that all persons deserve to be free from fear of or actual harm from physical,
verbal, mental, emotional, or spiritual abuse without regard to age, race, gender,
sexual orientation, mental, physical or emotional condition or sense of identity.
Whereas we believe that all persons deserve to have their physical,
verbal, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs met without regard to age, race,
gender, sexual orientation, mental, physical or emotional condition or sense of
identity. Whereas we believe that all persons have the right to heal in their
own way and at their own pace from physical, verbal, mental, emotional, or spiritual
abuse or neglect. Acknowledging the pervasive physiological, social,
emotional, and developmental challenges that survivors must confront we do, therefore,
affirm that we support and endorse the rights of Survivors of Family Trauma to
the same quality of life, freedom from fear, and options for happiness that are
bestowed upon all other persons.
